You know your field and the language that is used in it. Your website should have plenty of good solid text written around your topic. It's important to modify your content to ensure that it reflects the keywords and keyphrases typically used by prospective visitors on search engines to find sites such as your's. Fortunately there are a number of tools on the web which help (check links for contacts). Firstly, there as specialist sites offering excellent analysis of the popular words used. Secondly, you can combine your keyword search with research into good phrases to bid for in Pay-per-Click campaigns. The tools available to PPC customers can also serve as good sources of popular search language. Once you have identified popular search vocabulary, use it throughout your text in natural prose. Don't try to pack words artificially - you could be penalised for spamming. Use the best keywords and phrases within the signpost html tags on your pages. Think laterally for additional related language and topics. Remember to focus partly on regional information - towns, counties, countries etc. - especially if your website and services are regionally based. A simple way to keep repeating these would be to put your contact details and full business address at the foot of every page. Consider building additional pages on related subjects. These can provide a service to visitors, attract additional visitors and potential customers. Also encourage other websites linking to you to use your keywords in their link text. Make sure this varies from website to website. If the same link text appears all over the web you could again be penalised for spamming. Now check out how to utilise signpost html tags in your page content. |
